Magnolia Prime Reflects on Seasonal Challenges In The Health Care Technology Report
REDWOOD CITY, CA - April 11, 2013 - Greetings Friends and Colleagues:
As you know, I am the CEO and co-founder of Magnolia Prime, a health care information technology company. (www.magnoliaprime.com) I am writing to ask for your support, as I am a candidate for 2013 Man & Woman of the Year (MWOY), which is a campaign of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The organization’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
Each dollar I raise counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most votes/raises the most money is named the Man/Woman of the Year. For the 2013 campaign I have set my sights high and hope to raise at least $70,000 by May 18th, but in order to accomplish my goal I need your help! Here is my MWOY campaign website: http://www.mwoy.org/pages/sj/sv13/karenlls2013
I hope that you will be able to support my campaign with a tax-deductible donation of $100 or more. If each of my prospective donors like you gave at this level then I would be able to exceed my goal. Of course, any contribution that you make will be greatly appreciated! Donations may be made on my MWOY website or by sending a check to LLS, Attn: MWOY/Karen Routt, 675 N. First St., Suite 1100, San Jose CA 95112. (Corporate sponsorships are also welcome. Please contact me for more information.)
On a personal note, I have a friend, Anna, I’ve known for almost eight years. I met Anna shortly after I returned to California in 2004. I told her husband, David, about the MWOY campaign and he revealed Anna had Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. It is a disease in which the bone marrow makes too many white blood cells. Even though she has this chronic disease, she lives life to the fullest. When I next saw Anna she was ecstatic about my involvement with LLS. Her words were, “I can’t be cured, but the treatments can get better and I’ve benefited from the research funded by LLS!” I had no idea that one of my good buddies suffered from this chronic disease!
Finally, I have two fundraisers coming up and I hope you will put them on your calendar. I will post more information on my MWOY website as the time gets closer. Both events will be filled with fun, networking and drawings.
- May Day for a Cure, Wednesday, May 1st, 5 - 9 pm, TGI Fridays in San Mateo
- Campaign Countdown for a Cure, Thursday, May 16th, 5 - 7 pm, Mango Caribbean in Palo Alto (in collaboration with Siam Orchid)
The restaurants are contributing at least 15% of the evening’s revenues to LLS and supporting my campaign.
Please remember that LLS could not sustain and accelerate its quest for a cure without your support. Your gift truly does make a difference, and I look forward to your generous support.
P.S. Please forgive me if you’ve already made a donation. I’m just trying to reach out to everyone!
