Karen E. Routt, Founder and CEO

Karen is a subject matter expert in the field of aging as a result of working in the field for two decades. Her talents are strongest at the intersection of elderly/aging, technology and business development. Karen’s experience includes management and consulting roles in senior housing development and providing services to the elderly and their caregivers. She also served as primary caregiver for her 94-year-old uncle.

Karen served as Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Cambridge (MA) and was later appointed as Trustee for the Cambridge Health Alliance health care system. In addition, Karen has been a trustee for numerous senior housing and senior services organizations including the National Caucus and Center for Black Aged. Karen volunteers for Stanford University Business School alumni activities where she received her MBA. Karen earned her BA in Applied Mathematics from the University of Michigan.

Kurt Webster, Chief Technology Officer

Kurt is a versatile high tech leader who has held leadership roles in multiple startup organizations, two of which were eventually acquired. He started as a technical creator developing industry changing robot control platforms based on off-the-shelf PC-based hardware.

For the past two decades he has been on the forefront of leveraging new and cutting edge technologies to create new or enhanced delivery of services that provide competitive advantage. Kurt has built and managed small, high performing teams capable of rapidly developing high quality products with a strong customer orientation. He has served as team builder and manager at multiple companies and held highly visible director-level positions at industry leading companies such as Sandisk and Netflix.

Chris Goad, Independent Consultant

Chris Goad is a computer scientist by training who received his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford. He has worked in a variety of areas: computer vision, programming language design, robot simulation, and web mapping. He has cofounded two companies.

Chris developed the call management engine that powers Magnolia Prime and remains as a adviser and developer for the continuing evolution of that engine.

Joanne Handy, RN, MS President and CEO, Aging Services of California

Joanne Handy is the President and CEO of Aging Services of California, which represents the nonprofit senior living field of CCRCs, assisted living, senior housing and community-based services. Aging Services is the founding sponsor of AgeTech California, a partnership of the senior living and home care fields advancing the use of technologies by providers. Until 2009, she was the President of the Visiting Nurse Association of Boston, the nation’s oldest and one of the largest VNAs on the east coast.

She is the former President of the Goldman Institute on Aging, an affiliate of the University of California San Francisco, known for its pioneering work in developing managed care and community-based services for older adults. She is recognized as a national policy leader in the aging and home care fields, having serving until 2010 on the national Board of Directors of AARP, representing 36 million Americans 50 years and older.

Jeannee Parker Martin, RN, MPH President and Owner, The Corridor Group, Inc.

President and Owner, The Corridor Group, Inc. Jeannee is an internationally known leader in health service strategic positioning, development and delivery of care ─ spanning the US, Central and South America, Thailand, and Turkey. She has consulted with WHO and the US Department of State in South Africa. Her career was launched in international public health settings, and later when she established the first AIDS Home Care and Hospice services in the US.

As CEO of one of the nation’s largest home and hospice providers, she leveraged community resources, championed policy agendas, and accessed public and private funding to expand services. Jeannee currently serves on the board of The Corridor Group, Inc., the National Hospice Foundation, the National Hospice Work Group, and Magnolia Prime. Jeannee also currently serves on the clinical faculty at UCSF School of Nursing. Jeannee received her Master’s degree from Yale University, and her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.

Kate Purmal, Executive Coach and Consultant, Kate Purmal Consulting

Kate Purmal is a strategy consultant and business coach to CEOs, professional services executives, and entrepreneurs. She works with her clients to initiate growth strategies and launch new business initiatives. She also serves as a strategic advisor to ipCapital Group, an IP strategy and innovation consulting firm.

Kate has a successful track record of launching new companies and business ventures. She was most recently the SVP and GM of Digital Content at SanDisk, and prior to SanDisk was and a founder and CEO of the software joint-venture U3. Kate was a member of the founding management team of Palm, Inc. She has also founded and run two professional service companies and two non-profits.

Kate has worked with dozens of executives at start-ups and professional service organizations, and more than a dozen large companies. Past clients include Intuit, Hewlett-Packard, Handspring, Palm Inc., CBS, Clorox, and Verifone.
